Bill of Rights

At Poole Forum we believe that everyone should be treated the same.
This is our Bill of Rights


1. The right to feel safe going out.
Safe from strangers, burglars and bullying.

2. The right to feel safe in our
own home.
To learn how to be safe at home.
To feel safe from staff and to know what to do if staff are mean.

3. The right to confidentiality.
To be able to make a report and not worry that you will get into trouble. To decide who sees our life plan. To keep information about our health private.

4. The right to have the relationships we want.
The right to learn about relationships, marriage, friendships and sex education.

5. The right to have feelings.
The right to grief and the right to feel sad.
The right to get angry.

6. The right to say NO !
To say no to family, to staff, to drink or drugs, to bullying and to strangers.

7. The right to adulthood.
To make our own decisions, to marry, to have sex, to have children, to use birth control, to vote and to have a drink.
8. The right to live where we want.
To live where we want and to live with
who we want.

9. The right to independence.
To be able to go out, to make our own decisions and choose what we want.



11. The right to transportation.
To learn to drive, to have safe, affordable and accessible transport.

10. The right to paid work.
To go to college, to get a real job, to choose what we do in the daytime and evening.
